+ From Training to Practical Work +

In order to prepare graduates for work as professional dancers, the Maslool has designed a two-year curriculum that simulates daily work in a professional repertoire company at the highest standards. The school week is identical to the 5-day work week during which emphasis is placed on strengthening technique and the body in a combination of lessons that include: ballet, contemporary forms, improvisation, contact, yoga, and the Franklin Method.

Alongside this, students learn a versatile repertoire relevant to contemporary dance styles and diverse artistic choices. Israeli and international choreographers are invited to work intensively with the young dancers, creating original works and teaching materials from their personal repertoire or those of the companies to which they belong.

The program maintains a unique residency platform through which creators are invited to test and develop materials and ideas for new works with the program’s dancers in experimental processes (Among the works that were developed in the program’s studio are: Man of the Hour by Itzik Galili, Boys by Roy Assaf, as well as works by Ella Rothchild, Noa Zuk & Ohad Fishof and more). These interactions allow the students to experience high-quality, enriching content, both Israeli and international, established and familiar, original and innovative.

The repertoire materials and works created are taught under the close supervision of two regular rehearsal directors who are entrusted with constructing a broad context for the movement material, integrating the various movement languages, directing, and providing a broad perspective on the development of each student.
Throughout the year, dancers gain significant stage experience and exposure by performing regularly in the main dance venues Tel Aviv.
